R.C. Davis Signed Limited Edition Lithograph "Proposal" - WVXU

A signed limited edition offset lithograph reproduction of a 1996 painting by contemporary Louisiana-based artist R.C. (Richard Christopher) Davis (born 1950), titled Proposal. The first half of the artist’s career was spent on creating surreal landscapes based on the Gulf Coast, such as this one, though in 2004 his subject matter shifted to focus on the city of New Orleans. This print depicts a pair of hummingbirds flitting around one another near a low-hanging blossoming branch backed by a sparkling river. Light streams through the trees above and insects buzz across the scene, creating a magical ambiance filled with light and life. The print is signed and dated in-plate to the lower right and is signed and numbered 1285 from an edition of 1450 prints in gold ink to the lower right. The print is triple-matted in gold, burgundy, and forest green and is presented behind glass in a wooden frame with cast surface embellishments, gold tone finish, and a hanging wire.
