Item Details
A signed and numbered limited edition silkscreen print on speckle toned paper titled, Burroughs 100 Years by American contemporary artist, graphic designer, illustrator, and entrepreneur, Shepard Fairey, best known for his unique street art, including large, stunning murals, as well as his clothing company, OBEY. This piece was inspired by the original photograph taken by Kate Simon, which depicts a headshot of William S. Burroughs in tan, red, and black hues to celebrate what would have been his 100th birthday on February 5th of 2014. William Seward Burroughs (1914-1997) was an American novelist, short story writer, satirist, essayist, and painter who challenged conformity and thought outside of the box to create a diverse body of writing throughout his career. This silkscreen print is hand signed by both Shepard Fairey and Kate Simon along the lower margin, which also includes the edition number, ‘392/450’ written in the lower left corner. This entire piece is displayed behind glass in a large black frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.
