A remarque proof etching on silk after Jean-Louis-Ernest Meissonier’s The Halt (1876) etched and hand signed by A. Fauna. This print depicts two soldiers on horses outside of an Inn drinking from goblets in the company of three doting onlookers. The print is signed in plate by painter Meissonier, and hand signed in the bottom right margin by etching artist Fauna. The bottom left margin contains a remarque motif of a man in profile with an ornate jacket with floral designs. The print is presented ready to hang with wire hardware behind glass in a wooden frame featuring floral designs in relief.
