Kachin Dha Sword
Item Details
A unique vintage Kachin dha sword with a rattan-wrapped bamboo hilt and a bamboo scabbard. Originating with the Kachin people of northern Burma/Myanmar and neighboring border areas, it has a machete-like blade which widens toward a flattened tip, adorned with etched lines. The scabbard is wrapped in a red woven fabric cord. Dha is the Burmese word for ‘knife’ and can refer to a range of swords and knives among Southeast Asian cultures.
Condition
- fair, minor rust to blade, cracks to hilt (held together by rattan wrapping).
