A double-sided 1934 Esquire Magazine cartoon. The front of the page features a cartoon by E. Simms Campbell (1906-1971), who was the first African-American cartoonist published in National magazines. It depicts the image of a man and woman at dinner with a caption that reads ‘Do you realise I’m your wife?‘, signed in plate to the lower right corner. The verso of the page features a cartoon that depicts a group of woman in a living area with a caption that reads ’Trouble is, I’m the type that mother won’t let me associate with’, signed in plate by a different artist. They present ready for framing.
