Mid-Century Romweber Dining Table with Six Chairs, Circa 1962

A Mid-Century Romweber dining table and six chairs. This retro dining set is from 1962 and was quality made in Batesville, Indiana of wood and veneer. The table extends from round to oval with an ornate footed pedestal base and inset brass details to the perimeter. Includes two Captain’s chairs and four side chairs with high tapered backs detailed with an open panel of octagonal brass rings. The chairs are upholstered in what appears to be an iridescent blue-lilac shantung silk. Original tags are intact to chairs and the box holding the table extensions reads ‘9 62 No. 3 Tempo Dec.’.

Condition

-consistent with age and use, light scratches to table top and edges of leaf inserts, chair seats have become rigid with time and the seat backs’ fill material is decomposing behind the fabric, light finished parts would benefit from a good cleaning.
