Four Danish Silver Serving Utensils with Seashell Decoraton

A collection of Danish silver serving utensils with seashell decoration. This includes an Absalon silver plate serving spoon with a round bowl with a raised back, pointed shoulders and a fiddle handle ornamented with a seashell (or palmette), monogrammed on the back ‘M.O’. There is also a 1930 small sterling spoon with a similar handle, also monogrammed ‘M.O’, by I. Holm (Copenhagen, 1893-1973). The third spoon features a pierced scrollwork handle, bordered by a palmette or seashell form on either side. It is sterling from 1930, and bears the assayer mark for Christian F. Heise (1904-1932). Also included is a butter knife, also from 1930, with a banded handle, ornamented with a seashell. It’s handle is sterling, marked with the Danish silver assay mark of three towers, and the Danish Christian D. Heise assayer mark, however its handle is marked ‘J.A. Henckels, Zwillingswerk’, a German knife manufacturer. The total approximate weight of the two smaller spoons is 1.89 ozt.
