1953 Mohawks Governor's Championship Trophy

A Cincinnati Mohawk championship trophy is presented. The trophy ‘cup’ sits on top of three pillars and is embellished with wings; a hockey player, stick in hand, is at the very top. ‘The Governor’s Trophy Awarded Annually To The Season Schedule Champion Of The International Hockey League’ is engraved onto the cup. An eagle sitting on top of a round ball is located in-between the pillars. The pillars are attached to the section that has the engraving, ‘1953 Cincinnati Mohawks Cincinnati, Ohio’. The entire trophy, with the exception of the wood base at the very bottom, is made of brass. The is a one-of-one item. This trophy was the center piece of the entire Cincinnati Gardens Legends Museum.

Condition

- some wear; minor nicks on the metal; one of the wings has a vintage repair
