A 1922 Centenary of General Grant Commemorative Coin, Obverse features a bust of Ulysses S. Grant surmounted by the words ‘.n Commemoration of the Centenary of General Grant’ and flanked by the dates ‘1822’ and ‘1922’. Reverse features a homestead relief encircled by the words ‘Birthplace of General Grant’ and ‘Point Pleasant, Ohio’. Piece is protected by a cardboard case with a plastic window. Ulysses S. Grant (1822-1885) was the 18th President of the United States, as well as a former military general who lead the Union Army to victory in the American Civil War (1861-1865).
