Assorted Vintage Tins and Spice Box
Item Details
An assortment of vintage tins and a spice box. Includes two tines from the 1920s featuring women in various forms of dress and sport. Also includes a unique tin labeled Materia Medica Specimen Parke, Davis & Co., Detroit, Mich. USA. It has a circular clear glass look through on the top for viewing. It would have contained botanical medicinal specimens and this particular tin was one of the first issued indicated by label, likely late 1800s to early 1900s. The spice box is called The Household Fancy Box issued by Bennett, Simpson & Co. Affixed to the inside lid of the box is a list of spices included. The spices would have been in marked glass shaker bottles. This set includes five bottles and are all marked celery salt with metal shaker lids and the company name as well. Box has a pin/hole hinged latch closure.
