Reproduction Marble Bust of Dante's Beatrice
Item Details
A reproduction marble bust of the character Beatrice from Dante’s Divine Comedy. The head and neck of this bust are carved from unveined cream-toned white marble, while the shoulders have varying shades of gray-brown with prominent white veining. The bust is on a shallow tan marble base with ‘Beatrice’ carved into the front, atop a larger semicircular white and gray marble base. Beatrice is depicted looking down, wavy hair framing the top of her face, and with delicate scrollwork ornamentation both on her headpiece and on the collar of her dress. This piece is unmarked.
