Chinese Porcelain Floor Vase with Wood Stand

Item Details

A Chinese porcelain floor vase with a wood stand. The baluster-form vase features a slightly scalloped rim above a tapered neck with applied, Buddhist lions and dragons. The neck and body are decorated with gilt panels and floral borders. The underside retains a red, four-character mark which reads ‘Yong sheng tang zhi’ (永勝堂製), which has been identified by some scholars as the hallmark of the Yongsheng (Eternal Victory) Ornamented Porcelain Factory (永勝彩瓷廠), which produced wares in the early Republic in Hong Kong and possibly mainland China as well. The vase is accompanied by a wooden stand.
