"Fragata Española" Wooden Model Frigate

A wooden ship model, Fragata Española Año 1780. This does not seem to be of a particular ship, instead is an example of a Spanish frigate of the period. In 1780, the Spanish Navy, through their alliance with France, fought against the Royal British Navy during the American Revolutionary war. This war ship features three rows of gunports on a black hull, four wooden masts and a bow spirit upon which are tied canvas sails. Also includes an anchor and many intricate applied details. It is mounted on a stand, that includes the name plate: FRAGATA ESPANOLA ANO 1780.
