A plaster statue of a mother and child. This beige plaster statue is cast after M. Charny’s original bronze sculpture, which is created after Vigée Le Brun’s Louise Élisabeth Vigée le Brun avec sa fille painting depicting her and her young daughter embracing. The sculpture has Vigée Le Brun and M. Charny in the base, as well as the reproduction copyright, Artistic Royal Krafts, LTD #1808.

M. Charny was a French sculptor in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century.

Vigée Le Brun (1755-1842) was a celebrated French painter, specializing in portraits, and famed for her connections to Marie Antoinette’s court.
