A Mexican Huichol Kuka style beaded mask. This extravagantly ornamented mask is constructed of a singular piece of wood; the rough finished carving marks are evident on the reverse. The front is covered in applied small plastic beads to create a bright geometric design across the mask’s features. Traditionally, Kuka masks are composed of bone, clay, seeds and shells. Modern reproductions only feature beads. Includes hanging hardware.
