Item Details
A pair of guardian lion figurines. These ceramics figures are in the form of Chinese Shi or Imperial guardian lions. Each one is standing, with the upper body lowered, and a front paw extended. The tails are curved upwards over the back. Both are presented with mouths open exposing long teeth, scrolling around the bottom jaws, and double horns. They are finished in vibrant high-gloss green and yellow glaze. Underneath is the character 笑, signifying to laugh or to smile, however the second character cannot be read through the glaze.
Condition
- bottom of feet are worn.
