A hand-knotted Iranian Sirjan area rug. This wool area rug features a dark blue field with a large tan hexagon medallion in the center, with geometric and floral motifs throughout in red, orange, light blue, navy, tan and green. Rug also features a blue border with floral motifs in similar colors, and short cream fringe. Sirjan​ ​rugs​ ​come​ ​from​ ​the​ ​city​ ​of​ ​the​ ​same​ ​name,​ ​in​ ​the​ ​Kerman​ ​province;​ ​they​ ​are known​ ​for​ ​their​ ​bold​ ​colors​ ​and​ ​patterns,​ ​as​ ​well​ ​as​ ​their​ ​thin​ ​to​ ​medium​ ​pile​ ​height.
