Herschede Windsor 325 Grandfather Clock

Item Details

A Herschede Windsor 325 grandfather clock. This stunning clock features a solid cherry wood body with brass elements throughout. The simple rounded bonnet has a brass decorative laurel affixed to the center, two carved, fluted ‘pilars’ frame the body and extend from top to bottom, where the clock rests on its flat base. A moon dial with a smiling moon tops the clock face, and the face itself sports an Arabic numeral dial on a brushed metal plate, with second ticks around the edge and foliate designs scrolled between, a stylized fleur de lis comprised of multiple scrolled elements to the center, ornate hands, and four bronze applications to the corners featuring a tangle of acanthus leaves. One single keyed door provides access to the top and bottom, where the three weights and the pendulum are located. A small placard reads ‘Presented to Joyce Wilcox by Her Husband Bert; February 1, 1976’.
