Antique Qing Dynasty Chinese Silk Embroidery

An antique framed Chinese embroidery on silk from the Qing dynasty, the last imperial dynasty of China ruling from 1644 to 1912. This embroidery depicts a symmetrical pattern made of ornate urns, flowers, and stripes of warm shades of coral, blue, mint, and green. Areas of metallic bronze tone thread accent the piece in scrolling patterns. The piece is not marked by the artist. It is matted in black floral silk and is presented behind glass in a wooden frame with black and gold tone finishes. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.

Condition

- light discoloration, yellow, and wear across embroidery, consistent with age.
