Vintage Newcomb Record Player

Item Details

A 1947 vintage Second Newcomb Transcription Player TR-16, with a maroon chipboard-covered case with a gray deck, 10’ platter, three speeds (33, 45 and 78 rpm), 10 watt output, 117 volts, 70 watts AC, RA Type 9120 Series MKIs speaker from Wolverhampton (England), and spring-loaded feet. The record player has a black power switch, two speaker controls, black motor AC switch, black scratch filter switch, plugs for a mic and radio, and dials for treble, bass, phono and mic. Also included are three records: ‘I Was A Communist for the FBI’ by Dana Andrews; ‘Favorite Story: When the Door Opened _ _?,’ Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians, Joe Marine with Glee Club and Orchestra, and Joe Marine with Orchestra.

Condition

- rust to the platter, needs cleaned. Untested because the cord needs to be replaced.
