A pair of Lefton China hand painted porcelain figurines, Albert and Victoria. Lefton China (based in Chicago) started importing porcelain figures from postwar Japan in 1946. These soon became sought after collectibles in the United States. This pair of idyllic gentile figurines are marked underneath: Lefton China (crown) Hand Painted (Albert/ Victoria) KW3048. Additionally they have the original red sticker which, in gold, reads: Lefton Trade Mark Exclusives Japan, which was in use by the company from 1960-1983. Both are made in Japan.
