A neoclassical Colonial Williamsburg Reproduction worktable by Baker, pattern number 8857, and serial number 10. The original, part of the permanent collection of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, was produced c. 1795 in Baltimore. This mahogany and mahogany veneer small table features an oval top, protected by glass, and an inlay apron, with a flush edge drawer, upon four tapered legs. It is marked, inside on drawer ‘Williamsburg Baker’, and a brass toned plaque ‘Williamsburg Reproduction Furniture by Baker’. Included in this lot is a description and history of the original piece, a statement of approval of reproduction by Colonial Williamsburg, and a furniture care guide.
