1946 Rookwood Pottery Hound Dog Bookend

A single hound dog bookend crafted by Rookwood Pottery of Cincinnati, circa 1946. This ceramic bookend features a basset hound puppy in a partial seated position with long droopy ears on a rectangular base, which has been painted in a light brown glaze. The underside is stamped with the signature Rookwood flame mark, as well as the pattern number ‘2998’ and date ‘XLVI’.
