Pair of 19th Century Chinese Vases
Item Details
A pair of porcelain Chinese vases. Each of these lidded vases has a curved hexagonal shape with an inset circular lid with rounded handle. Their vases feature colorful long-tailed pheasants, bamboo shoots, and peonies. The black background was added after original production in an attempt to imitate earlier famille noire porcelain. The A six-character Qing dynasty Xianfeng reign (1851–61) mark is on the base of each.
