A vintage National Mt. Airy brand mahogany dresser. The National Mount Airy brand existed from 1974 to 1997, after it merged National Furniture and Mount Airy Furniture Company, and before it became Bassett Furniture.This gorgeous piece features a beveled top with curved edges; two half-drawers and two full drawers, all with dovetail construction. Pulls feature ring and swan-neck shapes with floral hardware. Edges are fluted and lead to an apron with floral marquetry, incised trim, and short saber legs. This piece has sturdy wood peg construction as opposed to modern nails and screws; this extends the life of the piece and creates a sturdier frame and overall build.
