English Melon Form Silverplate Tea Service
Item Details
An English melon form silverplate tea service. The segmented lobed form has melon shaped finials, hand chased foliate panels with oval cartouches, spurred scrolled handles with mother of pearl insulators on the kettle, coffee and tea pots, and shell form feet. The set consists of a tilting kettle on associated stand with baroque cherub detail, coffee and tea pots, creamer, covered sugar bowl and waste bowl. With ‘NBS’ hallmarks in a trefoil and ‘MADE IN ENGLAND/HAND CHASED’ to the underside along with a corresponding piece number.
Condition
Associated stand on tilting kettle. Wear consistent with age and use.
