A signed limited edition offset lithograph print after the original watercolor titled Black Maned Lion by well-listed Cincinnati wildlife artist and naturalist John A. Ruthven (1924 – ), plate IV in his 1973 Safari Series. The image depicts the majestic lion pausing for a moment on a large boulder in his natural habitat, the safari wind blowing his mane. The print is numbered in pencil 1326 in an edition of 5000 to the lower left margin, titled to the lower center margin, and signed in plate and in pencil by the artist to the lower right. Mounted behind complementing brown mats and presented under glass in a beveled wood frame with a natural stained finish. Eye hooks for hanging wire present to verso.
