A set of Punch and Judy cast iron doorstops. The figural cast doorstops depict the Punch (Pulcinella) and his wife Julie and rests on a highly figured plinth. The two characters first appeared in the Commedia dell’arte during the 16th century and would later go on to become a staple of British seaside culture.
