A French Provincial Louis XV fauteuil. The 18th century hand-carved walnut frame armchair has a double acanthus crest on a shaped back with padded arms tied into a serpentine apron with similar carving. The antique piece, upholstered in a neutral linen, rests on foliate carved cabriole legs. The chair, with a history of being deaccessioned from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is a near mate to 16BOS038-067.
