An original celluloid painting from Walt Disney’s Fantasia. For the 1940 movie, animators painted a succession of gouache paintings on celluloid, with minimal changes in movement that were then photographed in front of a master background. Projected in rapid succession these created the animated movement. This rare painting is of young Pegasus from the Pastoral Symphony segment. Includes a copyright from Walt Disney Productions on verso, that states that it is ‘one of a select few that have been released to art collectors. The remainder have been destroyed.’ Presented with a white mat and black painted wooden frame, wired for hanging.
