An antique 1888 photogravure of an oil painting by well-listed German-American painter Toby Edward Rosenthal (1848-1917), titled The Dancing Lesson of Our Grandmothers. The image depicts an ornate ballroom where several people have gathered. Two central figures gracefully dance across the stunning room as a small crowd looks on, smiling and whispering. The title is printed in the lower margin, along with the artist’s name. The photogravure was created by Gebbie & Husson Co. Ltd., which is also printed in the lower margin. The image is copyrighted 1888. It is matted in a fibrous off-white paper, and is presented behind glass in a simple gilt frame.
