Item Details

A South Pacific style lawn chair, or plantation chair, handcrafted by John Chace. It features a cloth seat that is stretched on a wooden frame with long planks for propping up the user’s legs. It was originally built in 1952 based on the type of chair used by WWII-era Navy Seabees of the 75th Construction Battalion to lounge on the beach during brief periods of down time.

Condition

- some minor scratches and wear; seat has a small split in the fabric.
