A semi antique hand woven Shirvan area rug. The rug features a palette of madder red, indigo, ivory, moss green, and steel blue, with a large-scale lattice of mir-a-boteh to the center field. The rug has a complex compound border of open blossoms and filler motifs, with a defined main turtle border in complementary colors. The selvedge edge features a running water border and sewn, bound edges. It has a small kilim skirt and warp fringe to either end. Unmarked.
