A framed Alexander Calder hand pulled lithograph titled Balloons. Best known as the inventor of mobile sculptures, Alexander Calder (American, 1898 – 1976) was also a prolific painter and printmaker. As his sculptures moved to pure abstraction, so did his other work. This 1968 print depicts a series of five black, red, and orange circles connected by thin lines. The piece is signed in the plate along with the date (’68) in the lower right. It is presented under a black mat in a silver tone frame with acrylic glass for protection. Wire to verso for hanging.
