Antique Heavy Brass Russian Samovar

Item Details

An antique heavy brass Russian samovar. This unique piece has a large, wide body atop a narrow stem and squared base. At the top sides of the body are two movable handles. The removable lid opens to a hollow body where water is stored and kept warm by hot coals. There is a spout on the side of the body for letting water out. Samovars have a ring shaped attachment at the top for holding tea concentrate. There is a makers mark along the top of the body. It is partially rubbed off, but that is consistent with age.
