An original 1919 watercolor painting by George Howell Gay. George Howell Gay (1858-1931) is known for his watercolor landscapes like the one seen here. This watercolor depicts a seascape of Bass Rocks in Gloucester, MA at low tide with sailboats in the distance. Signed to the lower left, marked ‘4447’, and behind white mat.
Condition
- mat material is not in best condition, rips throughout. The painting is adhered to light weight bristol board with dabs of glue to the under side of the top edge, board shows wear.

- measurements are of watercolor painting only, not including mat material and are of the painting flat.
