American Empire Hall Sofa

An American Empire Hall Sofa. The sofa was purchased from Ante-Bellum home in 1867. Features an ornately carved floral design crown piece at center echoed by the carved center medallion at the apron of the seat. The back is a slight camel-back style and features a tight cushion. The arms are rolled and the sofa features a single tight seat cushion. The sofa is upholstered in sage on cream tone brocade featuring a striped and foliate pattern. The arm supports are delicately carved with a feathered peacock in relief to the front and the sofa rests on a scalloped apron with four scrolled feet.
