A handwoven Jaldar wool area rug with an Afghani design. The rug features a color scheme of deep ruby red and garnet with ivory and indigo blue. It has two parallel pole medallion strips to either side with diamond patterns featuring a ram’s horn hook pattern complemented with smaller single diamond shapes throughout the field. It has a compound border featuring geometric designs in alternating complementary colors and is bound with a bright indigo selvedge. It has a wool warp fringe to either end and is unmarked.
