An original 1976 oil on canvas board imprimatura painting of a portrait of an American Indian by well-listed painter Lester Hawks (New Mexico/California/Mexico, 1936 – 2000). The emotive painting is signed and dated to the lower corner, and is signed again to the verso. The painting is mounted behind a linen liner in a beveled wood frame with a gold tone and dark red finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.

Condition

- accretion on painting surface, mat and frame. Finish of frame is worn with chips and abrasions.
