1885 First Edition Volumes of "Our Living World Illustrated"

An 1885 first edition collection of Our Living World Illustrated by the Rev. J. G. Wood in three volumes. These volumes were revised and adapted to American Zoology by Joseph B. Holder, M.D. and published in 1885 by Selmar Hess. The volumes are bound in full leather with raised bands and tooled gilt on the spine and the title in tooled gilt on the cover. Volume I covers Mammalia, Volume II covers birds, and Volume III is Fishes, Reptiles, & C. The books are artistic editions of ‘the Rev. J. G. Wood’s Natural History of Animate Creation’ and feature illustrations in black ink on the pages.
