Spencer Crooks Original Watercolor Landscape

An original watercolor on heavyweight rag paper by artist and WWII veteran Spencer Crooks (1917 – 2004). Crooks is recognized for his Rhode Island landmarks subject matter, but also paints many water scenes. He is an award-winning painter, teacher and tenor as well as a member of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame. The watercolor depicts an autumnal rural landscape. A small wooden home cuts into the center of the landscape, and a small figure stands in front of it working in the yard. The piece is signed in watercolor to the lower left. It is double-matted in white and pale pink and is presented without framing.
