Item Details
A mid-nineteenth century German mantel clock with reverse painted glass, circa 1860. The clock features a hand wood grained base, constructed with a mitered bonnet. The clock includes the original enamel tin clock face and hands, bearing black Roman numerals. The glass door has a reverse painted lakeside scene, with men and children in row boats and women walking along the shore. The interior panel reads ‘Registered’ and ‘Musterschutz,’ German for ‘copyright.’ A key is included.
