An vintage Wm. Ainsworth & Sons scientific scale. It features a wood and glass housing with a door plate that can be removed through slots in the top, a weighted base with a control knob, and screw level feet with pointed tips. Inside, the complicated scale mechanics feature a brass support and removable dishes and weight indicator. The scale is controlled with the base knob, which tilts the mechanism side to side depending on how it is rotated. The base of the support is stamped ‘Wm. Ainsworth & Sons Patents Pending Denver, Colo., U.S.A. 6415’. Includes assorted gram and milligram weights. See also 16CIN235-104 and 106.
