A set of two late 19th century folios of ‘The Great Masters in the Louvre Gallery’. Published by D. Appleton & Co. of New York and Goupil & Co. of Paris, dated 1898. Loose sheets of the work represented at the Louvre held in paper folios and held together with board covers with ribbon ties. Titles in the grouping include ‘The Italian Primitives’, ‘The Italian School’, ‘The Primitive Flemish School’, ‘Modern Schiool’, ‘Napoleonic School’, ‘The Opening of the Eighteenth Century’ and many more. The works are reproduced as lithographs and there are also some loose color inserts.

Condition

- fair. All show discoloration, pages are loose in the folders. Completeness of set is unknown.
