Pair of Fire-Gilded French Empire Candelabra
Item Details
A pair of fire-gilded French Empire candelabra. They have four decorative urn-shaped taper holders on volute arms adorned with vines, leaves, and a flower medallion in a vine curled toward the center, having acanthus leaf bobeches. In the middle is a stem with an artichoke finial. The top section sits on an ebonized reeded stem, capped at either end with acanthus leaves. The stems rest on gilded bases over an ebonized black, raised square base with leaf detail. They rest on gilded claw feet. Marked ‘Made in Austria’ to the bottom.
