French Empire Egyptian-Style Centerpiece Bowl

Item Details

A French Empire glass and bronze Egyptian-style centerpiece or console bowl. The bowl is intricately cut glass, rimmed in fire-gilded brass or bronze, with a wide fire-gilded frame band to the base. It has a gilded hobstar to the underside of the bowl. The frame is supported by three black patinated and fire-gilded female sphinx, with wings outstretched to support the frame. The bowl and frame rest on a tri-cornered ebonized base with gold-toned surface. Unmarked. Please see item 16LOU089-166 for related items.
