Vintage Van Briggle Lamp with Original Shade

A Van Briggle Pottery lamp with original shade. The body of this lamp depicts two glossy glazed black horse rearing up and crossing legs. The plastic shade has fabric flowers and fabric butterflies pressed into the shade. The base is marked near the cord with the Van Briggle maker’s mark. Van Briggle Pottery is the oldest, continuously producing art pottery in the United States, and Artus Van Briggle, the founder, was a very important Art Nouveau artist.
