American Independence Sword With Sterling Silver, Diamond, and Sapphire Hilt
Item Details
An American Independence Sword with sterling silver, diamond, and sapphire hilt. The pommel bears the Great Seal of the United States in sterling silver and cloisonné; there is some wear to the blue leather on the grip. The blade is elaborately decorated with gold tone scrolling and patriotic decorations on a blue panel. The sword can me mounted on a handsome mahogany display board, or stored in a velvet-lined leather box. The piece was manufactured by Wilkinson Sword of London. This is one of 1,000 swords issued by the United States Historical Society to celebrate the American Bicentennial in 1976.
