Item Details

A limited edition bronze sculpture titled The Cellist by American artist Stanley Bleifeld (1924 – 2011), created circa 1960. The sculpture has rich dark brown and light brown patina and a black marble base. It depicts the bust of a nude woman with the top portion of a cello. This piece was shown in a solo exhibition at Peridot Gallery in 1963. It is number 1 in an edition of 7. The signature and number are incised to the lower left of the sculpture. There is also a label to the underside of the base ‘Peridot Stanley Beifeld The Cellist 01/7’.
