Vintage Carlton Ware Vase and Jam Pot

A vintage Carlton Ware vase and jam pot. The mid-century modern style ceramic jam pot features a round body, with a basketweave-like texture with a translucent crackled finish, and two oblong, tab handles to the sides, which are painted with gold lustre. The domed lid of the vessel has the same basketweave texture, and is topped with a round gold lustre knob. The vessell sits on a matching saucer, and is marked ‘Carlton Ware – Made in England’. A lovely dark red vase features a hand-painted design of stylized flowering tree branches, with a peacock, painted in bright, enamel colors. There are two handles to either side of the neck of the vase, which are accented with gold lustre. The vase is marked ‘Carlton Ware – Rouge Royal’ to the underside.
